– take Blackjack Road toward Chestnut Mountain ski resort.
– Go 6 miles and turn right onto Sand Hill Road at the sharp curve and blue sign for Riverview Ranch & Resort.

Coming through Elizabeth (from the east):
– take Hwy 20 for 1.6 miles northwest and turn left onto Hwy 84.
– Go 2.3 miles and turn right on W. Saw Mill Road.
– Go 2.3 miles and turn right on W. Blackjack Rd.
– Go 5.7 miles and turn sharp left onto Sand Hill Road at the sharp curve and blue sign for Riverview Ranch & Resort.

Coming through Hanover (from the south)
– Turn left off 84 onto Blackjack Rd. toward Chestnut Mtn. Ski Resort,
– Go 9 miles and turn sharp left onto Sand Hill Rd at the sharp curve and blue sign for Riverview Ranch & Resort.

After Turn Onto Sand Hill Road
-Turn left at the bottom of the hill onto River Road.
– Take the first driveway on the left into our parking area (big yellow equestrian center).

Coming by Boat
– Dock at Chestnut Mountain’s Pier
– Walk 0.9 miles North along beautiful River Road.
– Turn Right into the driveway for the big yellow building.

We’ll come out with our friendly dogs for a “sniff and greet.” Bessie is a German Shepard, Nala and Simba are mini Dachshunds.

We will expect you to arrive at your scheduled time. Please keep us updated if your arrival time changes so we can plan accordingly. Please don’t arrive early. If you get ahead of schedule and have a few minutes to kill, I recommend driving south one mile along scenic River Road to the bottom of Chestnut Mountain ski resort. They have a nice pier that they allow the public to use.

Please, please, watch for our little dogs, pigs, ducks, and chickens as you come and go in the parking area, especially backing up. The dogs often stand or sit in driver blind spots under tires. Please do not pet our neighbor’s horses or go onto their private property. Please don’t let kids chase the ducks or chickens. Please do not feed any of the animals unless supervised by a wrangler. They can develop bad habits or become ill.

Google Maps erroneously directs users into the driveway of the Goldmoor Inn on the hill above us. Enter 2691 S River Road, Galena IL and you will get correct directions.
