Our Horses

Our Horses Have Been Together Their Whole Lives

Our horses were born into this herd, with exception of Bullseye, the mini horse, who came to us in 2021. They have moved across the country and have settled here in Galena with Wranglers Roger and Sabina.

Our horses are majestic, well bred, healthy, and strong, but they are gentle. They are aging gracefully and have gotten most of their youthful exuberance out of their systems. Their predictable calmness makes them ideal horses for a petting zoo for young and old. We feel comfortable bringing groups of people into the pasture with them because we know each horse very well and we know when they are calm and when they are feisty. They are always calmer after a meal so we try to schedule feedings before each petting zoo experience.

You can feel Safe In Our Pastures

We feel comfortable bringing groups of people into the pasture with our horses because we know them very well. We know when they are calm and when they are going to be feisty. They are always calmer after a meal so we try to schedule feedings before each petting zoo experience. Try to keep your toes out from under the horses' hooves. Come with a healthy respect for the back end of a horse. Wrangler Roger Says "Never Walk Behind A Horse Unless you Know That Horse Well." Our horses are exposed to many small animals walking around and under them. and they won't step on or kick them. The horses will likewise be careful of your kids. Our Wranglers touch the horses all over, and they are de-sensitized to sharp noises and quick movements. Still, guests and visitors should try not to be too rambunctious around horses. Follow the wrangler's instructions and they will keep you safe.

Unicorn and Roger

Star Skipper

Magical Unicorn

Wrangler Roger has established a relationship with the trolls who live down River Road near Drury Lane. The trolls can get pixie dust from the elusive fairies. The trolls offer the pixie dust, in small quantities, to us for a fee. The pixie dust turns some horses into unicorns when sprinkled on. Because we can only get small quantities the effect only lasts about an hour. Because of this, we can offer Unicorn rides for a small fee. Talk to Wrangler Roger to set this up if you are interested in Unicorn rides.

Meet The Horses In A Variety Of Settings

In winter we generally keep the horses in their stalls at night to protect them from the cold. In summer we keep them indoors in the hot afternoons. So, depending on the time of day you come, you may meet them in a pasture or in the stable.
